Rev. Samuel W. Hale, Jr. graduated from the American Baptist College in Nashville, TN and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, KY. His Ministerial Experience extends six decades of Pastoring, Teaching, Christian Education, Missions, Religious Journalism, and several Church Ministry Development projects.

He has also served as Director of the Contemporary Ministries Workshop of the National Baptist Congress of Christian Educationor over twenty years, and with the Home Mission Board NBCUSA for over fifty years. He is the former Mission Pastor of the Johenning Baptist Mission Chapel and Organizing Pastor of the Johenning Baptist Church, Washington, D.C.; Pastor of the historic Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Springfield, IL; Interim Pastor of the New Salem Baptist Church, Decatur, IL, and the Progressive Baptist Church, Davenport, IA. He currently serves as President of J. Lewis Powell Mission Ministries. His main Ministry Objectives is reflected in Luke 24:45:

“Then opened he their understanding that they might understand the scriptures.”
